Ellie Moore, PhD, LCSW, has been a private practice psychotherapist in Columbia, Missouri for about ten years. Although she completed her MSW in 2000, she knew she had to accumulate life experiences and the maturity she felt necessary to assist others in their lives. When the time was right, Ellie began the deep dive into the world of trauma therapy that brought her to where she is today: An EMDRIA certified EMDR therapist, an AASECT certified Sex Therapist, and a practitioner of Deep Brain Reorienting.
With more than two decades of experience in social work, psychotherapy, research, education, and community-based services, Ellie brings a broad and thoughtful perspective to her practice. Before establishing her private practice, she provided therapy to children, adolescents, families, and adults in residential and trauma-informed treatment settings. She has also worked in developmental disability services, family support, public administration, higher education, and multidisciplinary health research.
Ellie holds a PhD in Environmental Design and Architectural Studies from the University of Missouri, master’s degrees in Social Work and Public Administration from West Virginia University, and a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from George Mason University.
Her practice is calm, welcoming, and personal—offering clients a supportive space to heal, grow, and build a more meaningful, connected, and fulfilling life.
When Ellie is not working, she is most likely to be found at the gym, on the trail or floating though Missouri’s scenic waterways with her tiny dog, Blu.
